二. 表示地点及方向的介词

1.表示地点的介词：at、 on、in、 under、 near 、by、 around、 between、 opposite

1）.at、 in

①.at+ 小地点/空间较小的场所

at home 在家 at 10 King Street在国王街10号

stand at the door站在门口 at the railway station在火车站

● I have to arrive at the railway station before ten.

我得在10点前赶到火车站。

②.in+大地点/空间较大的场所

in the world 在世界上 in the street 在街上

in bed 躺在床上 in China 在中国

● He arrived in Los Angeles in 1963.

他于1963年来到洛杉矶。

2. 表示方向的介词：on 、above、 over、 under、 below

1）. on 、above、 over、 under、 below

①. on 在……上面（有接触面）

on the river在河上 on the ground 在地上

● The dog was lying on the ground.

狗正在地上躺着。

on 在……靠近……的地方

on the screen 在屏幕上 on the left 在左边

● There is a map of China on the wall.

2）.near、 by

①. near 靠近；在附近；（空间或时间）

②. by 在……旁边；（距离比near近）；同义词：beside在旁边

by the window 在窗边 by me 在我旁边

3）.between、 among、 around

①. between 在两者之间

● She is sitting between Lucy and Lily.

她坐在露茜和莉莉之间。

②. among 在…中间；在…之中（三者或三者以上）

● I caught sight of him among the crowd.

③.around 环绕；在……周围

● They sat around the table talking the news.

4）. in front of、 behind、 opposite

①. in front of 在……的前面 (范围之内的前面/部)

4.up 移动

6）.along、across、through、past

①. along沿着

● We were walking along the river when it began to rain.

②. across 横过；穿过 （从表面穿过）

● He walk across the road slowly.

他慢慢地穿过了马路。

③. through 穿过；通过（从内部穿过）

● We went through the forest.

④.past 经过

● Every day he runs past the city hall.

7）. for、to、from

①. for 向……（目的地）；leave for 动身去……；start for 出发去……

● Then he leaves for school at around six-thirty.

②. to 到达……地点（目的地）或方向

● They continued until they came to a river.

他们继续往前一直来到河边。

③.from 从……地点起

● It’s about five minutes’ walk from here to the market.

辨析：to 和towards

■to 表示到达某地

■towards 表示朝向，而不是目的地

He walked towards the gate of the school.
