阅读下列短文,从每题所给的ABCD四个选项中,选出最佳选项,并将答案写在答题卡上。

Getting to school on time doesn’t have to be a battle against the clock. The key to a calm countdown is having a routine(常规) that works for you, and then sticking to it.

Lay out children’s clean clothes the night before

Who wants to be looking through unsorted clothes for three pairs of matching socks at 8 am? That goes for you, too. Just have the clothes you know they’ll wear and the food they like ready and waiting. It makes life so much easier not to have a “does my bum(屁股) look big in this” worry when you can’t spare the time.

Allow time for yourself

Whether it’s a hot shower, a cup of coffee or five minutes peace, leave yourself enough time. This does not include “just five more minutes” in bed, which will often turn into oversleeping followed by mayhem.

Stick to a routine

Make sure your children know what you expect from them every morning and stick to that routine, whether it’s that they should be full dressed before breakfast or that they should brush their teeth straight afterwards. My personal top tip for the easiest way to a pain-free morning is no TV.

Keep calm

If the bus is late or you’ve forgotten where you parked the car, it’s better than walking still. If you are late, don’t blame the children. Everyone has such a bad morning, but if your children are often late for school, it’s up to you to start a more organized morning routine.

56. The passage is mainly intended for _____.

A. teachers B. students C. parents D. policemen

A. the lazy habit B. the sleeping hour

C. a full preparation D. some trouble

59. What is the author’s first choice to have a pain-free morning?

A. Not getting up late B. Having breakfast early

C. Not watching TV D. Putting on clothes quickly

People say that a mother’s love knows no boundaries (界限). It is true when

it comes to my mother. She’s done so many things so my sisters and I could have a better life. She’s been there for us through thick and thin.

My mother comes from a rather large family of twelve and she is the youngest. My mother dropped out of school when she was fifteen because no one could afford her studies. She then started working to help out her brothers and sisters. When she was nineteen she married my father and when they had my sister and I, they decided to move to the United States so that we could have a better life. My mother and father did not know English but somehow they communicated with other people. But my finally decided that it was not safe to raise three girls in California so we all moved to Texas when I was seven. We lived with relatives for a few years but my mother was determined to have a house for ourselves.

My parents have worked so hard to give us everything. They have always been there when we have needed them. My mother is always alert (警觉的). When I’m sick she takes care of me, and when I’m sad she tries to cheer me up. She always tells my sister and I that all she wants is for us to be happy.

There’s a saying that goes “you don’t appreciate something until it’s gone”. Well, I finally had a chance to experience it. My parents went to Mexico this winter because my mother was going to have surgery (手术). For once in my life my mother was not there to hold and comfort me. Those two weeks made me realize how much I love my mother. She means the world to me.

What do people do with their old, out-of-date but still useful computer?

Most people don’t know what to do with them. Many old computers are put away in homes. Many more are simply thrown out with the rubbish.

Finally some companies are thinking of ways to bring down the number of old computers. Sony has agreed to help recycle its old products. Dell, Hewlett-Packard and other companies now also take back some old computers.

In some countries, laws are being passed, too. Computer companies will have to pay for collecting and recycling their used products. And 70%of computer waste must be recycled. The idea behind the laws is that computer companies themselves should pay the cost. That will encourage them to make computers that are easier and cheaper to repair and upgrade (升级).

Yet while many people are throwing away good computers, others cannot afford them at all. Hundreds of organizations are working to solve this problem. They collect and repair old computers. Some also teach others how to repair computers.

The computers then go to schools, charities and people who need them. Giving a used computer to one of these organizations can turn one person’s rubbish into someone else’s useful things --- and cut down on waste, too.

64. What do many people do with old computers?

A. They repair them B. They sell them

C. They give them to others D. They stop using them

65. According to the laws in some countries, computer companies must _____.

A. recycle most of their products B. collect all their used products

B. Repair and give them to those who need them.

C. Help people to learn to use them.

D. Turn rubbish into useful things.

67. What is the main idea of this passage?

A. Fewer computers should be produced.
