R: Welcome to the 5th English Skill Competition for College Students of Changchun University of Technology. I’m Robert from the school of foreign languages.
N: I’m Natalie, also from the school of foreign languages. Well, Robert, you see I feel it’s really my great honor to host this year’s competition.
R: So do I.
N: As an English major, I’m very attached to this competition and I’m very proud of the success and popularity this competition has achieved over the past years.
R: Today’s competition is one part of our College Students Culture Festival, and we have got the support of our school leaders. And the contestants today were tutored by the teachers from the second stuff room. It is an excellent stuff.
N: Yes, of course.
R: Now I’m looking around and I can tell you, Natalie, I’m very excited to be hosting here on our main campus which we English majors seldom visit. It is a beautiful campus.
N: That’s right. And I believe there will be a wonderful English feast on this wonderful campus.

R: Thank you. Now I would like to introduce the rules for today’s competition. There are 6 groups in the this final, and each group has 3 people. The form of the final is oral test. The full mark is 100.
N: In the final, we have 3 parts. Part One is English debate show. It is the first time that this show was involved in our English Skill Competition. And we all believe that it will be the most wonderful part today.
R: Part Two is film puzzle. Each group will watch a fragment of a film and every member must start to answer the questions within 10 seconds. The full mark is 30.
N: Part Three is English play show. Each group will perform an English play which is related to our life. The full mark is 70. We hope it will be a good opportunity for the participants to display their talents in language and public speaking and to exchange ideas on important current issues.
R: We also hope that you, the audience, will enjoy this exciting competition and also benefit from what you hear. OK, I think everybody here cannot wait to see now, so let’s begin.
