通过上表可以看出，近十年来，除了2005年12月份考了书信格式的作文之外，其余的都是相似的模式。我们可以把这些作文分为两种类型：一、WWH模式；二、SOI模式。
1、WWH模式。
也就是“what”、“why”和“how”，扩展开来就“是什么、为什么、怎么办”。这类作文大致按照“现象阐述——原因分析——如何应对”的思路进行。
对于“what”部分的写作，常用的开头短语或句式可归结如下：
● There is no denying that··· 不可否认，···
● It is well known that··· 众所周知，···
● nowadays， 现在
● At present, 目前
● there is no doubt that 毫无疑问，
若有多种情况需要描述，则可以采取相应的副词或短语进行分点描述，如firstly、secondly、thirdly等等。
对于“why”部分的写作，需要进行原因的分析，通常可以按照以下的句式进行写作：
● There are several reasons responsible for this phenomenon.
● There are a variety of reasons responsible for this trend
● There are many reasons for this phenomenon
● The reasons are complicated,···
● A lot of reasons are responsible for this phenomenon.
以上句子大同小异，均表示某现象或趋势由于很多原因造成的，是为第二部分的起始。
接着可以采用分述的办法：

● Thirdly

这是最为常用的，另外，还可以适当使用besides，and等连词表示分点描述。
对于“how”部分，要么是表示自己的看法，要么就是提出解决问题的办法。因此可以用以下句式开头。

As far as I’m concerned
Personally speaking,
As to me , as for me
In conclusion
In a word
Considering the serious situation, we can come up with some measures to deal with it.
根据不同情境，灵活选用不同的开头语句。
2、SOI模式。
也就是通常的两种对立观点然后再加上自己的观点，即“some think···，others think···，I think”
作文的开头可以用以下两个句子：
Different people have different views about （不同的人对于···有不同的看法）
There has been an increasing controversy（争议，争辩） that （备受争议的是···）
接下来是“一些人认为”，常用以下的句型，以作为开头。
Many people hold the idea that
Some strongly believe that
Some people hold that
Some argue ···
阐述完了“一些人认为”，接着就是“另外一些人认为”。 可选择以下句型开始叙述：
While others have different viewpoint. ···
others，however，hold the opposite view.
However, others think differently.
之后，就轮到了“我认为”，常用的开始短语或句型如下：
In my opinion
As far as I’m concerned
Personally speaking,
As to me , as for me
In conclusion
In a word
与第一种模式的结尾基本相同。
