Tobeginwith,oneman’smeatisanotherman’spoison.Differentpeoplepossessvariousperspectivesonwhatmakesamoviewhortwhile.Forinstance,boysmayconsiderthatactionmoviesaremeaningfulbecauseintheactionmovies,theactorsmoveasfastasagustofwindandcanprovidethemsignificantvisualdelightandmotivatethemtostrengthentheirbodiestohelppeoplewho,likeinthemovie,areinneedineverydaylife.Ontheotherhand,countlessgirlsmayfinditrepulsivebecauseintheirview,actionmoviesarefullofviolence,thereforehavinganegativeimpactintheiremotionalstate..Asaresult,boysarelikelytoresorttoviolencetodealwithanydifficultiesandposeapotentialthreattothesocietyinourreallife.Thereby,itisdifficultyforustoestablishthestandardof‘worthwhilemovies’becauseoppositesexhaveoppositecriteria;noonehasabsoluteauthoritytodoso.

Moreover,everymoviehasitsowntruevaluesinreallifeforitissetonthebasesofordinarypeople’sexperience.Infact,theauthorsofmoviesgettheinspirationoutofthereallifeandthatiswhyaudiencescanrelatetocertainmovies.TakethemovieHarryPotterasanexample.Somepeoplemaythinkthefictionalcharacters--HarryandhisfriendscomefromJ.K.Rowling’simagination.ButasJ.K.Rowlingacknowledges,herimaginationisinfluencedbyrealpeople---hermother,herclosefriends,andthewitchshemetinthesubwayinLondon.Inthemovie,RowlingemphasizesthevirtuesoffriendshipbetweenHarryandRon.Why?ItwasRowling’sfriendswhohelpedhertogothroughherhardesttime.Indeed,sheblendsherseveralfriends’attributesintodifferentfictionalcharacters.Fuerthermore,beforeshewroteHarryPotter,Rowlinghadlosthermother;Beingawareofthegreatpainsoflosingone’smother,RowlingportraysHarryasanorphanwhosuffersplentifulabusesfromhisuncleandcousin.Asaresult,audiencesbegintopaymoreattentiontotopicstoucheduponinHarryPottermovies,suchasorphansandcompassionfortheneedy.
