Tibet is a beautiful place. Here are some routes to Tibet.
To Lhasa by Air:
If you are in China, you can fly to Lhasa from Chengdu but it is also possible from Kunming and a few other Chinese cities.
If you are not in China, it is only possible from Kathmandu, Nepal (尼泊尔).
To Lhasa by Rail:
The Qinghai-Tibet Railway was completed in July 2006. If you want to travel to Lhasa from Beijing, this is a great choice.
You can take the train all the way from Beijing to Lhasa with a stop in Xi’an to see the Terracotta Warriors.
While there are a number of routes to Tibet, officially (官方地) only two allow foreign travelers. The first is through Nepal. The second choice is through Golmud in Qinghai.
