Three of the pictures were exhibited in Museum of Modem Art, and in 1940 she had her first exhibition in New York. Between the 1930s and her death, she produced some 2000 pictures: detailed and lively portrayals of the country life she had known for So long, with a marvelous sense of color and form. By the fifteenth century the use of the fork was widely spread in Italy. The English explanation was that Italians were against eating food touched with fingers.
