伦敦奥运会
伦敦—第30届奥运会周日落下帷幕，充分展示了英国流行音乐和风土人情，盛大的闭幕暨狂欢派对，以独特的英国方式给为期17天的伦敦奥运会画上了圆满的句号。本届奥运会见证了女子体育的崛起，奥运会的严肃性与英式幽默的完美结合，给这个曾经头顶大英帝国光环的民族一种重拾旧日辉煌的陶醉感。
就像这个周日重归旧好的谁人乐队和辣妹组合一样，英国人在奥运会期间团结一心，向世界展现了大西洋东岸这一岛国人民身上难得一见的爱国热情。

手风琴演奏者
每个人都在匆忙与紧张中奔向别处，但是这位瘦削结实的手风琴演奏者全心全意地用他的音乐将这个角落变得充满生气。流行老歌歌声在我们头上翩翩起舞—“Can Can”, “Lara’s Theme”, “Funiculi-Funicula”。这些过去几十年间的流行歌曲源于欧洲风情而不是蕴含美国元素。

你知道，他并不是唯一一个在这喧嚣街角停留的人，两位警察也在这儿，他俩负责执勤。其中一位是男警官，正值青春年少，信心满满。另一位呢，还是一个女孩，配枪在她小巧的身体上显得太过庞大，松松垮垮地垂下。也许几年后她会长大成为一位女警官，穿上她那身警服要显得合身是要花上几年的。
虽然娇小，但是这个法国女孩身上流露出属于法国宪兵的威严气势。街角处的交通陷入了堵塞，我在这停留的半小时里，堵塞已经重复上演了好几回。可是这位年轻女孩毫不胆怯，她吹响口哨，迈步走入车流中。愤怒的车流咆哮着停了下来，乖乖地蹲伏在女孩脚边，又吵吵嚷嚷地发泄不满，表示急着赶路，却在女孩瘦小的胳膊下臣服了，他们无奈地接受，直到女孩挥手示意他们前进。
新生父母
In September, the new students again brought many faces of their parents in my sight. Some of them were escorted by both of their parents and mostly by their fathers. The immense variety of these parents’ faces was assimilated by the same features: being busy, tired, timid and circumspect as a new comer as well as an ardour for fear that their children should suffer.
The exhaustingly long journey and the tedious formalities were so effective in the wear and tear of the vigor. These 18-year-old youngsters, jubilant and frivolous at their juvenile success, became droopy the moment they got off. They followed their parents bustling about on the whole campus. Each procedure invited a long walk as well as a frequent way-asking. So their parents had to wear a smile here and there.
环境保护
In recent years, we have made/ paid unprecedented efforts in environment protection and ecological construction. During the 11th Five-year Plan period, the state promoted/pushed forward the strategy of energy conservation and emission reduction, thus drastically reducing the emissions of air pollutants like SO2. But/however, the result is far from satisfying.

Economic development should not follow the old path of treatment after pollution of the developed countries. Nor should city administrators cope with emergencies with the mentality that “the poor air quality is nothing serious”. And nor should city residents avail themselves of the amenities at the cost of the environmental disruption.
Only by forming an energy-saving and environment-friendly society in the aspects of geographical distribution, industrial framework, production mode and lifestyle and turning around the deteriorating trend of the ecological environment at the source can we embrace a happy life with an azure sky, green earth, clean water and clear wind.
双生驼鹿
上周一个温暖、多云的早上，我们一道去布朗克斯动物园看小驼鹿，刚好也给新买的一双黑鞋子试试脚。
我们没想到运气会那么好，一头母鹿正带着小鹿站在鹿苑的围墙旁边，鹿苑在猴舍的下面。为了得到更好的观察视角，我们踱行到鹿苑地势较低、紧邻一条小溪的那端。有条小路很少有人踏足。
来到铁丝网下小溪涓涓流过的这一僻静之所，就看到一头红鹿站直了身子，在她身旁挣扎着站立的是一头斑点小鹿，娇美得就像放在缩小透镜中去看的一件饰物。母亲带着孩子站在一棵灰色的山毛榉树下，树干上被人刻写上了几十颗心形图案和刻写人姓名的首字母缩写。
看到又一头小鹿躺在地面上，我们才意识到他们是母鹿刚刚产下的双胞胎。后生的这头小鹿身体还是湿的，还没有站立起来。
这是一幅难得一见的森林奇景，竟然出现在最受欢迎的纽约市五大城区之一的这个地方，我们还有什么不满足的呢。我们脚上穿着的新鞋子似乎也开始合脚了，不像开始那么夹脚了。
母鹿离铁丝网只有几步之遥，我们便坐在小路边的一块石头上，观察新生的小鹿在中布朗克斯这些严密布控的鹿苑中是如何开始生活的。
母鹿刚刚产下双胞胎，对我们的到来有些不满，抬起一只前蹄，在地上轻轻地跺了跺。然后她低下头去，叼起产下的胞衣，尽心尽力地嚼了起来，并用嘴使劲地把它甩来甩去，好像它就是一捆干草。
我们正看期间，一丝阳光穿过云层照在鹿宝宝身上，照亮了它们红褐色的皮毛，也照亮了它们白色的斑点。
偶然会有一些漫无目的的游客走到这里来，然而没有人意识到这里发生了多么不同寻常的事情！“看这些袋鼠！”一个孩子嚷道。他和妈妈一起面目表情看了一眼鹿就走开了。
过了一会儿，躺着的那头小鹿使出全部的力气和智慧站了起来，第一次站起身来努力嗅探着圈禁它的鹿苑的秘密。
作为对儿子站起来的褒奖，母亲放下嘴里的胞衣，试图用嘴舔干他的身体。她逆着小鹿身上的纹理舔，特别关注那些关键部位。
与此同时，大儿子踮着脚尖，迈着碎步，朝小溪走去，并下到了溪水中去。他在溪水中间停下来撒了泡尿，就像小孩子洗澡的时候常干的事情。
