Step 1:Revision
Show some pictures to review the texts in Unit 1 and Unit 2.
Step 2:Language practice
1.Ask students to read through the example sentences in the box.
1)I'm standing on the Great Wall of China and talking to you.
2)Tony is eating a delicious ice cream.
3)They're working.
4)People aren't having dinner.
2.Ask the students to repeat the sentences in the box.
Step 3:Practice
1.Revise the usage of the present continuous tense.
2.Look at the picture in Activity 1.Ask students to read the example sentence “Tony is calling a friend.” and find out who is Tony in the picture.
3.Ask students to answer:What can you see? What are they doing?
4.Read through the conversation in Activity 2 with the whole class.
Tony:Hi,Dad!
Dad:Hi,Tony.What are you doing now?
Tony:We (1)________(visit) the Forbidden City.Lingling and Betty (2)________(write) postcards.
Dad:What is Daming doing?
Tony:He (3)________(take) photos.There are lots of people here.They (4)________(enjoy) the sun.Some people (5)________(look) at the buildings and some(6) ________(look) at maps.

5.Ask the students to complete the conversation between Tony and his dad with the correct form of the words in brackets with their partners.

1.Look at the pictures in Activity 3.
