DualLaserDriverwithAPCAmp
TheEL6140isacombinationread+2writelevellaserdriverandIVamplifier,withanextraread+oscillatorROM
channelforuseindual-laser‘combo’applications.A
separate(amplitudeandfrequencyoscillatormodulatestheselectedoutputforlasernoisereductionduringreadorwrite.TheCDpin,whenhigh,selectstheCD(writelaser.PositivecurrentsuppliedtotheIINlines,throughauserselectedexternalresistor,allowthefullscalerangeofeachamplifiertobematchedtothefullscalerangeoftheuserscontrolDACs.Whenthewritelaserisselected,andtheWENpinsareswitchedlow,therespectivecurrentissummedtotheoutputwith1nsriseandfalltimes.WhentheCDpinislow,theROMlaserdiodeisdrivenbyoutputIOUT2,andnocurrentwillappearatoutputIOUT1.
The100mAP-P(maxoscillatorisswitchedonandoffbytheOSCENline.TheCDlineallowstheoscillatortooperateatdifferentamplitudesandfrequenciesforeachlaser.
TheentirechipispowereddownwhenENABLEislow.TheusercandefinethegainoftheI/Vamplifier.Withaslewrateof200V/µs,theI/Vamplifiercannormallysettleto1%within30ns.
