【篇三：从《老友记》看美国电视剧】
从《老友记》看美国电视剧

自1994年9月22日开播,风靡世界10年的《老友记》,共播出236集。它以曼哈顿一家公寓为中心,讲述了发生在6名青年男女身上的各种搞笑、离奇、浪漫和感人的故事。这部关乎友谊的喜剧无疑是美国电视史上的一个奇迹。本文从《老友记》来分析美国电视剧的制作及经营特点,以及对中国喜剧的启示。
美国电视剧的制作及经营特点
1.“映季”播出
美国电视剧最大的特点是分季播出。这种模式被称为“映季”,时间一般是从每年的9月上旬到第二年的4月下旬。《老友记》10季中有几条故事主线并行发展,每一季结尾还会留下悬念,如第4季结尾罗斯在艾米丽结婚时错将新娘艾米丽的名字喊成了瑞秋,以这种出人意料的结尾收场,让关注他们的老友迷们意犹未尽,迫切期待并猜测着瑞秋和罗斯这对欢喜冤家会不会再度复合。
这种做法的优势是:吊足了观众的胃口,可掀起新一轮的收视热潮。
2.单集制作耗资大且周期长
在美国,这类节目的制作已经非常成熟,形成了一种产业化的操作模式。通常一集电视剧的制作包括:情节设计——编写提纲——撰写对白——汇成脚本——制片人和导演作前期筹备——前期拍摄——后期制作——发行播出,通常一集拍摄完成要七八天的时间,而且会带领观众从头到尾参与实拍,费用相对较高。拍摄《老友记》,每集需要耗费3万英尺胶卷,并且要耗费366000度电来照明,在剧中听到的笑声,是参加现场拍摄的观众的真实反应。参加拍摄是免费的,但一些热门的片段拍摄时,位置早就预定完了,可见“老友记”在观众中的地位逐渐攀升。
其优势是:更容易出精品节目,为电视剧的长久发展提供保障。
3.电视剧品牌意识强
采用一周一集的播出方式,保证一个播出长度,这样可以吸引观众的注意力,保证节目形成连续的影响力,最终形成品牌效应。在美国,电视剧产业是很发达的,因此竞争也就格外惨烈,每个电视剧的拍摄都是处于一种危机感中,如果连续播出一段时间收视率依旧不见起色,那么,这个电视剧就会被电视台封杀,而节目本身成为一个品牌后,节目播放者要做的,就是不断追加投资,维持其生命。《老友记》横跨10年的时间,而收视率却居高不下,观众的范围波及世界的每个角落。演员们的片酬从最初的每集3万美元暴涨到第10季时的每集100万美元。6个演员挣这么高的片酬不是没有道理,《老友记》每个30秒的广告时段卖价至少要50万美元,更不用提该剧集在美国之外的巨大收益和相关产品的收益。
美国电视产业这一经营模式的优势显而易见:长期保持影响力,不断增加收益。
4.剧情设计灵活
采用边拍边播的制作方式,编剧可以根据时事变动、观众反馈,随时调整剧情,加入一些现实生活中的情节:圣诞节到了,观众们熟悉的电视剧主人公们同样会在电视上“过节”;这种故意模糊戏里戏外的策略,目的就是让观众把剧中人当成自己的朋友、甚至家人来关心,由此把观众固定在屏幕前不愿离开。
随着《老友记》在英国的日益火爆,为了“笼络”这个头号海外市场,老友们还在第4季专门跑到英国伦敦取景拍摄罗斯同埃米莉的婚礼。老友们在伦敦受到了盛大的欢迎,剧组甚至请到英国王室的约克公爵夫人莎拉客串表演。
这种做法的优势是:可以让观众始终保持新鲜感。
对中国喜剧的启示
《老友记》能给中国的喜剧带来什么启示呢?下面用传播学“使用与满足”理论做一下简单分析。
1.满足了受众的娱乐心理
社会学家赖特在《大众传播的社会学观点》一书中,提出了媒介的娱乐功能。电视剧的社会功能即“提供娱乐”。
在《老友记》中,精彩的台词一直不断,这里暂列两条:
“how are you doin?”
这是乔伊用来勾搭女孩子的经典台词,每当他歪着头、斜着眼睛暧昧地说出这句话时,观众就会开怀大笑。多数情况下这句话颇有杀伤力,但有几次却失效了,反而更具喜剧性。 “oh-my-god!”
未见其人先闻其声,观众们就笑开了。以至于每当老友们模仿珍妮丝的这句拖得长长的“我的上帝”,都会触动观众们的笑神经。
对比来看我国的一部喜剧《武林外传》,它独特的搞笑风格已经赢得了广大受众的肯定,如:
关门放小郭。
贤惠,闲在家里什么都不会。
华山很近的,出门左拐打个驴的就到了。
你是没长脑袋,还是脑袋长了霉!

《武林外传》有一张所有演员一起拍摄的海报,像极了《老友记》6个人的神态。网上有人将其称为中国版的《老友记》,但是《老友记》是一个永恒的经典,它涉及到现代生活的各个方面,《武林外传》无法与之媲美,但是也让人看到了中国电视剧的努力。《武林外传》的导演尚敬说,希望也能像外国电视剧那样有观众的参与。不管怎样,它突破了中国喜剧刻意的教化模式,满足了受众的娱乐心理。
2.满足了受众英雄现实化的心理
《老友记》关注的是普通人之间的情感纠葛,就是这样的低姿态,才可以被全世界范围内的观众没有任何阻力地接受。老友们都是普通人,都是美国文化——“美国梦”的追随者
,即对自由、平等、宽容、进取和成功进行不懈追求的理想主义信念,是对机会均等、人人都有成功希望和创造奇迹可能性的乐观自信。它着重描写的是友情,一份珍贵的友情是世间最难得的,而《老友记》中的6个主角却用他们最自然的表现把这件困难的事变成可能,生活在都市中的现代人都会在钢筋水泥的包围中感到莫名的孤独,而《老友记》却给予了他们真诚的慰藉,最重要的是,《老友记》的创作基调就是散播快乐,它的语言精辟到几乎每一句都有笑点,它的情节更是巧妙而又有些荒诞,这给了在快节奏中忙碌的人们一个轻松的避风港。 相比之下,中国电视喜剧在这方面还是欠缺的,或者人物形象不够鲜活。以宗法伦理为基本原则的中国传统社会以和谐中庸为目标,艺术不可出现“靡靡之音”,休闲娱乐也要“非礼勿视、非礼勿听、非礼勿言”,因此喜剧创作方面缺乏透彻、激情与想象,缺乏普天同庆的狂欢精神,商业化、大众化意识比较淡漠,为娱乐而追求喜剧效果的自觉性不高。所以电视上的许多节目,不是家长里短的浅薄、无谓的打打闹闹,就是教条式的冲着崇高伟大而去,电视喜剧的内容和表现手法单薄,题材范围较窄,往往以家庭场景为主。
美国电视剧的精品电视剧经营模式是我们需要努力的方向,这是给我们的启示之一;我们需要像《老友记》那样对电视剧大胆突破和勇于创新,在广大观众的期待视域中获得强大的生命力,产生跨国界的影响力,呈现给世界一个多样的文化,这是给我们的启示之二。 参考文献:
