【Teaching aims】

1 To review the use of “it” by some sentences.

2 To use the structure including “it” correctly in the sentences .

Recite them on the basis of understanding them, then use them.

【Teaching procedures】

Step 1 Lead-in

Try to find out what the word “it” in the sentences refers to .

1. —I’ve broken a plate.

—It doesn’t matter.

2. —Who is knocking at the door?

—It’s me.

3. It is a lovely day, isn’t it?

4. It was nearly midnight when she came back.

5. It was very quiet in the hall.

6. It is half an hour’s walk to the city centre.

Step 2 Usage

一．用来指人。多指婴儿或身份不明的人。

二．指代前面提到过的事物或情况。

三．用来指天气，时间，环境，距离等。

四．It 作形式主语

1. It is convenient for you to communicate with your friend by e-mail.

2. It is no use crying over spilt milk.

3. It is said that the novel has been translated into English.

=The novel ____________________________________________.

五．It 作形式宾语

1. She felt it important learning English well.

2. She makes it a rule to read English aloud 20 minutes every morning.

=She makes it a rule that __________________________________.

六．It的常见句式

1. It is (high) time that….

It is high time that we should study hard.

2. It is /was the first (second ….) time that ….

It is the first time that I have come here.

3. It is/was +被强调部分+that…(被强调的人时可用who)
