一、概述
（一）课题产生的背景
水的污染通常是指人为原因造成的水质恶化,降低水的使用价值.水体污染源主要是化学物质,如①耗氧有机物,主要包括:糖类,蛋白质,脂肪,纤维素.它们来自于生活污水,肉类加工废水,食品,造纸,印染,制革,石油化工等工业废水.②难降解的有机污染物如:有机农药,合成高分子化合物,塑料,橡胶,纤维等.工业废水中的重金属如:汞,镉,铅,铬,铜,还有砷,其中有一些是致癌物质.③氮,磷等化肥和造纸,制糖等工业废水,以及大量使用含磷洗涤剂的生活污水中,存在大量的氮磷导致水质富营养化.江河湖泊出现富营养化现象称为"水华",在近海地区称为"赤潮".在发生"赤潮"或"水华"的水域里,一些浮游生物暴发性繁殖,使水变成红色,因此叫做"赤潮".这些藻类有恶臭,有毒,鱼类不能食用.藻类遮蔽阳光,使水底生物因光合作用受到阻碍而死去.这些死去的生物腐败后又放出氮磷等营养物质,再供藻类使用.这样,年长月久,造成恶性循环.
水乡长兴，生我养我的地方，无论走在城区还是行于乡间，我们无不感受到她发展变化的速度，感受到她日新月异的面貌。尤其是近些年，长兴经济快速发展，工业建设成就尤为显著。打造一个生态和谐、经济发展、社会文明进步的山水园林型的中等工贸城市，是我们的目标。
为了更深切地体验家乡的发展，我们同学数人相伴走进了长兴雉城镇经济技术开发区。望着那一排排现代漂亮的厂房，看着那一条条四通八达的公路，映入眼睑的工厂墙上的“ISO质量管理体系”、“ISO环境管理体系……”，我们开心我们欢笑我们满怀信心。看，我们家乡的经济多么强大。
然而，当我们走向原来清澈见底的小河边，从农家水井中取水时，我们看到了什么？像是什么都看到了，又像是么都没看到。是谁把污油倒进了河里？是什么让河水变黑发臭？又是谁把重金属侵入到河床中？井水怎么是黄色的？原有的一切怎么变成了虚幻，此时此刻，才是真正主角亮相的舞台。这让我们不得不翻开昔日的相册——细雨如烟，流水如歌，鱼游浅底，井水甘甜。这本相册,一无“现代文明”的气息——殘害生命的污水、遮日的黑烟、呛人的空气。我们在享受着富裕生活的同时，我们失去什么？难道这是经济发展的必然吗？疑问中，我们产生了探究的欲望，于是也就有了这个课题。
我们想以这个经济技术开发区为研究对象，通过深入的调查研究，对开发区水污染的状况、成因和治理的措施方法进行了解和探究。但是，尚处在高一年级的我们，无论是知识水平、研究能力，还是拥有的资料和时间都是十分有限的。但是，我们有作为公民的义务，有为国家为家乡做出自己应有贡献的责任。
在老师的引领下，我们成立了课题小组，查阅了有关法律法规，国家政策，制定了课题实施规划，拟定了详细的调查提纲，利用课余时间，走访企业、污水处理厂，进居民家庭，向政府环保部门求教。以求在课题研究的实践中增长知识和才干，以求在实践中发出我们微弱的声音，以求在实践中为家乡的更美好献出绵薄之力。（二）课题研究的意义：
经过查阅与咨询，我们知道关于水污染方面的研究，大到是一个世界级课题，小到许多学校的同学也都为此付出了不少心血。选此课题，从新颖性上说是选题的一忌，但我们只想面对现实，不为名利，只为生态更和谐，经济可持续发展，家乡更美好。
