Star student of the week
Liyue has been awarded the title of “star student of the week for what she did for our class. On the hot afternoon of last Saturday, Liyue went downtown and walk from one store to another, looking for the costumes we would wear in the singing contest. While the rest of us were enjoying our leisure time in cool and comfortable rooms, she spent the whole afternoon searching and selecting. Finally, she found the right clothes. Deeply moved by her efforts, we tried our best and won the first prize in the contest.
Liyue is always warm – hearted and cares a lot about the class. Besides, she often devotes her spare time to helping others. She has set a good example to us. Therefore, she deserve the honor and we should learn from her.
Great changes have taken place in the way people communicate with each other from a long distance. In the past people wrote letters to exchange information at first and later they could talk with each other on the telephone.
Now more and more people use their own mobile phones to communicate instead of writing on the paper and they e-mail to each other on the computer. As a result, people find it quicker and more convenient to communicate now, but at the same time some people feel that they become poorer in writing and the relationship between each other becomes not so close as before.

I’ve learned in from the Internet that you want to make a Chinese friend so as to learn the Chinese language and culture. I’m glad that you show such great interest in China and I would like to be your friend.
I will try my best to write to you as often as possible to introduce you the Chinese culture. When you have an opportunity to come to China, I’ll teach you how to speak Chinese and show you around some famous historical places of interest. Anyway, I am going to help you as much I can, how do you think?

Nice to hear from you again. As you know, this summer vacation, at the end of July, 2013 winners of NEPC will go to an eight-day English summer camp in Nanning. Some English teachers from China, the USA, England and Australia will join us.
In the camp, we will have some English speaking competitions, watch some wonderful performances given by the students and visit some places of interest in Nanning.
Besides, we will exchange our English learning experience and talk about our colorful school life in English. I think this summer camp will great improve my spoken English and I will make new friends there.

The methods are as follows. First, it is important to take a Chinese course, as you will be able to learn from the teacher and practice with your fellow students. Then, it also helps to watch TV and read books, newspapers and magazines in Chinese whenever possible. Besides, it should be a good idea to learn and sing Chinese songs, because by doing so you will learn and remember Chinese words more easily. You can also make more Chinese friends. They will tell you a lot about China and help you learn Chinese.

I am very glad to hear that you are going to travel in China and spend two days at my house. Here are some suggestions for the activities during your stay.
On the first morning we will watch a martial arts performance in the city square, and on the next morning we will enjoy Peking Opera shows at the theater.
On the first afternoon, we will go mountain climbing to get a bird’s – eye view of the city. On the next afternoon, we will go to the zoo to see lovely animals. After that, we will go shopping in the street markets where you can buy some gifts for your friends and family.
