Abstract:

This essay will compare and contrast two significant advances in human history. One finding helps explain how “high-density lipoproteins resists cardiovascular diseases, while the other induces hair growth. In order to obtain the much accurate data and scientific information as possible, the research methodology will be fully based on science, which will be introduced throughout the second paragraph. The third and forth paragraph will refer to the compare and contrast the contributions of the findings as well as Interpreting the findings, which will be the Findings and the Discussion.

Introduction:

The purpose of the research is to compare and contrast two significant advances via the human progress in list of their advent in different fields of the science ,use, and their dramatic contributions to human progress. One finding helps explain how “high-density lipoproteins resists cardiovascular diseases as the modern science is devoid of understanding of HDL's structure and how it interacts with other important plasma factors, the other induces hair growth by blocking a stress-related hormone associated with hair loss as other approachs to regrowing hair have shown limited effectiveness. These two scientific advances are both conducive to human progress. The reason I choose these two significant advances is that there are billions of individuals that suffer from cardiovascular diseases and hair loss. My thesis is that high-density lipoproteins resisting cardiovascular diseases is more indispensable to the man kind.

Methodology:

To begin this case study investigation, I surf on the internet and log on the websites. These two resources that I find involves the most extensive as well as reliable information and accurate data comparing to their counterparts. Then I find the information related to high-density lipoproteins resists cardiovascular diseases, and substance inducing hair growth. To collect and abstract as many accurate data and information as possible, I do a similarities and differences list(organizer) according to the procedure. Then I attempt to concise the conceptions and list aspects to be examined. After that, I will compare the number of individuals that suffer from cardiovascular diseases and how many individuals suffer from hair loss , and how many individuals have been helped. After I obtain all the accurate information , I compare and contrast those exact numbers and date and finally I come up with the final result.

Findings:

High-Density Lipoproteins:

The finding helps explain how “high-density lipoproteins resists cardiovascular diseases. It addresses the issue that modern science devoid of understanding of HDL's structure and how it interacts with other important plasma factors. The finding belongs to biology, owing to this scientific Advance is based on the knowledge to the structure of human cholesterol. It is discovered on March 13, 2011 .By W. Sean Davidson, PhD, professor in UC's pathology and laboratory medicine department and his team members. Previous studies have only focused on synthetic HDL made in the test tube. This work presents the first detailed models of human plasma HDL and has important implications for understanding key interactions in plasma that modulate its protective functions in the context of cardiovascular disease.

Astressin-B:

A chemical compound, a peptide astressin-B, induces hair growth by blocking a stress-related hormone associated with hair loss. It induces hair to be restored. The finding belongs to Chemistry and Biology, to accomplish this scientific advance , chemistry sustains to identify a chemical compound, a peptide astressin-B, which helps hair to restore, and biology sustains to evaluate astressin-B is a feasible plan for individuals. It is discovered on February 16, 2011. by the research team, which was originally studying brain–gut interactions, included Mulugeta, Lixin Wang, Noah Craft and Yvette Taché from UCLA; Jean Rivier and Catherine Rivier from the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, Calif.; and Mary Stenzel-Poore from the Oregon Health and Sciences University. Over the years, numerous hair-restoration remedies have emerged, ranging from hucksters' "miracle solvents" to legitimate medications such as minoxidil. But even the best of these have shown limited effectiveness. Due to astressin-B has not been tested on human body, we are not capable to make a conclusion thus far.

Accordingly, we can abstract that the percentage of individuals suffering from hairloss is far more extensive than the percentage of CVD carriers worldwide.

Generally speaking, They are both biology-related, and conducive to human progress and bring numerous profits to man kind.

Discussion:

Astressin-B:

As a advertisements, Hollywood, and the behavior of countless men demonstrate, hair represents strength, power, and virility. However, some individuals consider that hair loss is not big of problem while others do not. Freudians used to argue that a man's hair symbolized his manhood, so losing one's hair amounted to symbolic castration.

Over the years, numerous hair-restoration remedies have emerged, ranging from hucksters' "miracle solvents" to legitimate medications such as minoxidil. But even the best of these have shown limited effectiveness. Therefore, the astressin-B will not only be well received by individuals who have sheer desire of hair regrowing and but also astressin-B will cure their disease both physically and mentally, if the chemical compound be tested. However, the duration of the treatments: Just one shot per day for five consecutive days maintained the effects for up to four months. Yet, considering the lifespan of mice is equally two years, four months is such a long period. So, if it works on human, the treatment will equally be up to 25 years, therefore, hopeless people will still believe the hucksters' "miracle solvents instead of using the astressin-B. Therefore, astressin-B makes less of a contribution to human progress. Since it is only tested on mice, we cannot determine the effect it will have on humans.

High-Density Lipoproteins:

Devoid of understanding of HDL's structure and how it interacts with other important plasma factors, previous studies have only focused on synthetic HDL made in the test tube. Determining of the structure of 'High-Density Lipoproteins’ is capable of helping to resist cardiovascular diseases, including heart attack and stroke. This significant and essential science advance saves numerous people’s lives. Based on data from the 2007–08 National Health Survey, an estimated 17% of the Australian population (3.4 million people) had a cardiovascular disease (CVD), with the prevalence similar in males (15%) and females (17%). This increased seven-fold from 10% of those aged 35–44 years to 70% of those aged 85 years or over.

Now that we understand the HDL's structure and how it interacts with other important plasma factors, over millions of individuals who suffer from cardiovascular disease will be saved. Furthermore, this work presents the first detailed models of human plasma HDL and has important implications for understanding key interactions in plasma that modulate its protective functions in the context of cardiovascular disease. So, it is not only contributes to mankind but also it is a significant medical advance. On account of that, we can abstract the understanding of HDL's structure and how it interacts with other important plasma factors makes more contribution to human progress. Satisfied every detail with the HDL's structure and how it interacts with other important plasma factors has been tested and proven to be accurate

.

Certainly, owing to the restriction of the time and deficient approach to gather the up-to–date information, these two science project has to be continued and definitely requires further study to get the latest information. So far, we cannot assure which one contributes most to human progress.

Conclusion and Recommendation:

Accordingly, comparing and contrasting all the aspects to be examined, we can draw a conclusion that the determining the structure of 'High-Density Lipoproteins is the most indispensible to human process owing to it resists millions of people from illness. Oppositely, on account of the chemical compound, a peptide, astressin-B has not been tested on human body and so far, this effect has been seen only in mice, we are not capable of determining whether it also happens in humans remains to be seen.
