Is globalization welcome?

Nowadays we can enjoy the same films, fashions, brands, advertisements, and TV channels. All of these are due to globalization. Globalization is something that touches all of our lives. It has become an unstoppable trend. It is changing the social and economic structures of the world. But is globalization welcome? Yes, it is. Indeed, there is much to be said for it.

Since the several period of century, globalization connects the world and unified world pattern increasingly, for example: Coca Cola, Disney and McDonald's signify the development process along with Sony, Shell Oil and IMM. Their products are very famous and promoting the development of globalization, creating new law, new economic activity, new diet concept, new hope and dream. The optimistic think this promotes process of the global village, linked together by Internet, and is benefiting the material demand constantly. However, the pessimistic thinks the global corporation has destroyed the environment, sweep away the human healthy and meaningful existence. But do you remember the event of 9/11. If one thing stands out from 9/11, it’s the fact that the terrorists originated from the least globalized, least open, least integrated corners of the world: namely, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Afghanistan and northwest Pakistan. Countries that don’t trade in goods and services also tend not to trade in ideas, pluralism or tolerance. Globalization creates conditions for widening international exchanges, strengthening mutual understanding between nations, expanding cultural, educational, and scientific cooperation between nations and countries, enjoying the cultural achievements of people around the world which encourages the process of modernization and the enrichment of national culture. Through globalization and an open door policy, the erroneous concepts and a lowering of ethical standards, a selfish and individualistic lifestyle and harmful cultural products can easily be corrected.

In one word, globalization helps build a more harmonious world. With the world becoming much smaller and people much closer, there must be more and more social and culture exchanges. As a result, deeper understanding between nations is promoted and consultation prevails over confrontation.

The mankind has established the increasingly close contact day by day in the globalization process of centuries, more rapidly human paces of process increases recently. For instance: Jet airplane, cheap customer service, email, the computer, ocean ship, the high-speed capital circulation, all these make world more interdependent than ever, trans-corporation's factory produces the products to sell to all parts of the world in a lot of countries, such as: money, technology and raw materials fast export crossing national boundaries. Along with the products and finance with idea and culture circulate freely. Finally, the law, economies are rising to the internationalized level, a lot of politics, academics and reporter think this kind of trend is unable to stop and welcomed. The impacts of globalization in developing countries bring divide into three sections that include economics, culture and environment generally, each section also contains two opposite sides, which are advantages and disadvantages of globalization brought to the developing nations economically, comparing with the advantages and disadvantages, globalization takes more economic advantages to developing countries than disadvantages. Namely, globalisation brings healthy economic development to developing countries.

According to positive economic effects of globalization in developing nations, there are four points to be listed. Firstly, globalization, which helps developing countries to absorb the foreign capitals remedy the deficiency of the domestic construction fund. Secondly, the economic globalization helps developing countries to give play to the comparative advantage, launch foreign trade freely. Thirdly, the economic globalization has offered the opportunity for adjustment and upgrading of developing country's economic structure, thus narrow the technological disparity with the developed country, additionally, it helps to promote the system reform of developing countries.

On the other hand, the side effects of economic globalization reflect four parts as well. First of all, some people say that economic globalization makes the wealth more and more centralized to a few developed countries and interest groups, which aggravated the disequilibrium of economic development between the developed country and developing country. Furthermore, globalization makes economic security of developing countries threatened to developing nations. Moreover, global economics has strengthened the instability of developing country's economy greatly.

In conclusion , Firstly, according to the capital circulation, the wealth may not be just assembled to few developed countries of economic development. Developing nations not only can absorb the foreign capitals; but also remedy the deficiency of the domestic construction fund. Because of lots of entry of the foreign capitals, it can increasingly strengthen the basic industries to developing countries. For example: with the rapid globalization, China has attracted a large sum of money to invest their construction of the infrastructure, benefit related departments, promote the change of the products, make its competitiveness powerful in the international market, this decreases the disequilibrium of economic development between the developed country and developing country. Second, although the main economic artery also controlled by few developed countries, gradually, developing countries would gain more reputation and big right in economic activities globally. As Mohammed Moussalli said that“it is a trend that more developing countries will probably share the advantages in the future”. Many developing are struggling with their status in the world. With the economic globalization, developing nations may participate in the economic globalization more or less, this will strength their economic security of developing countries. Thirdly, globalization might improve the economic stability of developing countries, participate in the economic globalization process, integrate with the rule of international market, use the foreign experience of management for reference, combine the reform that this country carries on the economic development and reduce the differences actually, thus developing nations may make great efforts from globalization, narrow the disparity with developed nations and stabilize the economic development in developing countries. For example: in China, government devote to opening to the world globally and makes some efforts in economic field because of taking the relevant measure to avoid instability, it has been proven that globalization may do good to stability of developing countries.

On culture, firstly, Jeffrey G. Williamson said“Cultural globalization may help healthy economic development to developing nations”. But some people would think globalization kill the culture of developing countries. In some case, it may happen. Mostly, developing countries may take advantages by globalization. For example: Internet includes a large proportion of useful cultural information to developing countries, with the rapid development of the Internet and increasing population of developing countries, ordinary people may get lots of valuable cultural information quickly and efficiently from different countries and different religions, additionally it is quite efficient and convenient for spreading the cultural information, so it is a good way to disseminate the traditional culture or other else.

Secondly, the developments of communication tools may not cause original culture loss in developing countries basically. Some people hold that globalization may probably destroys the traditional culture, for example: the increasing number of young people in developing countries would rather receive the western or America culture than their native culture, it may be true in some place. But every coin has its two sides, it can be seen that modern globalization uses highly effective communication tools (electronic media, television, wireless connections, satellite, Internet, etc.), marketing; western entertainment and western- influenced business development are escalating rapidly throughout the world. there are many patterns of spreading couturethe culture in developing countries are in worldwide usages, if people pay some attention to communication , it will be more beneficial for spreading culture. Therefore, people can use useful ways to enhance and carry forward the culture.

About Environment, which has been strictly concerned by human being, because environmental pollution in the world globally has been more serious, many developing countries exist a variety of pollution problems more or less. Prevention systems in developing countries are poor and more hazardous technologically. It leads to respiratory and cardiovascular disease, cancer and reproductive and neurological problems that kill millions of working people every year. As Emily McMillan point out that in developing countries only 6 percent of workers acquired sufficient healthy cares regularly. Furthermore, the industries bring harm to humans in physical ways; at the same time workers have to encounter the competitive rules because of rapid economic growth. Human is the most important factor to move all industrial cycles ahead. In case the human is harmed, the other related systems may not return the previous features.

Additionally, on one side, with the quick global construction, developing countries intent to speed up the infrastruction which includes many aspects such as: airport facilities, roads, railways, ports, water, electricity and post harvest facilities. To get such basic constructions I should reclaims the soil to make a road or dam for generating electricity supplied to industrial factories. Moreover, findings for building for human in developing countries provision also seem to be the main problem. On the other side, for production transportation globally in developing countries, nowadays, it is easy to convey products and move it to other place for meeting the developmental need between countries, to get such basis, sometimes it needs to import from other developed countries, however, some developed countries export the toxic products to developing countries, which can destroy many environment or people.

In conclusion, although environment may do more harm to economic development in developing countries. According to the field of the economics and culture, globalisation brings more healthy economic development to developing countries, by opening a greater window to developed country markets and an information transfer, which improves productivity and higher living standards. Globalisation brings many disadvantages to developing countries, for example: firstly, developing countries will gain more capital or investment from developed countries, secondly, developing countries would get more reputation and big right in economic activities globally, thirdly, globalization help improve the economic stability of developing countries. For culture, it may benefit economic development to the developing nations. As a whole, there are more advantages that globalisation brings to the developing countries with health economic development. Therefore, globalisation brings more advantages economic development to developing countries than disadvantages.

So globalization has its upsides and downsides, but countries that come at it with the right institutions and governance can get the best out of it and cushion the worst. As Jack Welch said” Globalization has changed us into a company that searches the world, not just to sell or to source, but to find intellectual capital—the world’s best talents and greatest ideas.’’
