在六级中涉及到的重要的词根词缀不超过50个，并不是要求同学们一个不落地背下来，只是在没事的时候拿出来翻一翻，即使在考试的时候碰到不认识的生词或似是而非的单词，可以根据它含有的词根判断其大概的含义。比如uni表示“one，only”之意，由此可记忆unique为“唯一的”，unity为“统一，一致”；而有3个词根表示“two，double”的含义，分别对应3个词性不同的单词，ambi对应形容词ambiguous（摸棱两可的），du对应动词duplicate（复制，重复），di对应名词dilemma（进退两难的困境），这三个单词都曾经作为正确答案出现过。
