The 2005-2006 seasons were fantastic as the girls took UT Martin by storm at NCA summer camp. Every member of the Eastern High School Cheerleading Team was nominated for All-American. Juniors Natalie Elser and Mackenzie Ray and sophomores Hannah Ayers and Stephanie Coffman received All-American Honors. The squad received numerous awards while at camp including: The Motions Award (twice), The Team Award, The Spirit Stick, several blue ribbons, and Top Team at camp!
The Eastern Cheerlead ring Team did not compete this year. Although in the past, they have finished as high as 2nd in the nation at NCA Nationals in Dallas, Texas, the cheerleaders took a much needed break from competitions this year to return their focus back to their high school.
The Eastern cheerleaders know how to have fun as well as cheer on their teams!
They cheered in the pouring down rain during football season, lost their voices as the boys varsity basketball team won the LIT, and even cheered a volleyball game! The cheerleaders hosted great events such as pool parties and slumber parties too!
The Eastern Cheerleader Boosters has been having another successful year as well. The annual summer Cheer Clinic brought in over 150 girls even though we had to change the date. We also had a fall Cheer Clinic which gave the participants the opportunity to cheer on the sideline during a football game!
We still have other fund-raisers planned which will continue to build our funds for the future!
