6.preferring考查现在分词作状语。介子拒绝了邀请（即封赏），想带母亲隐居绵山。动词prefer 的逻辑主语是介子推，在逻辑上是主动关系。因此要用动词的现在分词状语。

7.However考查转折副词。本句为晋文公想用放火烧山来逼出介子推，然而介子推不走。从句意可看出表转折。

8.death  考查词性转换。但是介子推却选择不走，被烧死。be burnt to death被烧死。

9.meaningful考查词性转换。形容词作宾语补足语，修饰动词make的宾语festival。句意：使节日更加有意义（meaningful）。

10.of考查介词。句意：让后代知道他们祖先的贡献和介子推的故事。根据本句意可知填of。
