2、森林大火

A big fire broke out in the forest in the southwest of the United States late in November, 2007. The fire was caused by a young worker smoking carelessly in the forest. Thousands of firemen and local people fought bravely against the fire. The fire lasted over three weeks, causing a damage of at least 20 million dollars. By the time it was put out, about 80 men had been injured and nine had been killed in the fire. The whole nation was shocked at the news and many people are thinking what lesson we should draw from the fire. Every one of us should improve the sense of preventing fires and should not smoke or cook in the forest in case such a thing happens again.

Hi everyone. I have recently made a survey among 100 students in our school about how they relieve pressure in their daily school life.

As the chart shows, up to 29 percent of the students choose music as their favorite way and the percentage of those (turning to TV and the Internet) reaches 28 percent, while 18 percent of the students get out of their worries by sleeping. But exercise and others take up only 15 percent and 10 percent.

I prefer taking exercise to get relaxed. Whether I feel stressed, I will take exercise. And all the worries will disappear with the sweat. Besides, it benefits sleep, which makes me more confident. To sum up, exercise is a perfect way to reduce anxiety.

Recently a survey has been made

among 200 students in our school about

their attitude towards classic works of literature.

Among the 200 students interviewed, as many as 110 admit they have never read any classic literature works while only 25 say they read them often. The number of students who read occasionally is 65 and none of the 200 students read classic works of literature every day. According to the figures mentioned above, we can draw a conclusion that students are not interested in reading classic works of literature at all.

As far as I’m concerned, we students can benefit a lot from reading classic works of literature. Not only can we gain abundant knowledge, but we can better understand the real life as well. So we’d better take advantage of our spare time to read as many classic works of literature as possible.
