❶achieve的用法

1.achieve一般只用作及物动词,指排除各种困难、障碍而完成宏伟的目标。如achieve a goal意为“实现目标”;achieve a dream意为“实现梦想”。其同义词组为come true,意为“实现”,是不及物动词词组,一般由物(理想、愿望等)作主语。例如:
My dream has come true.我的理想实现了。
2.achieve的名词形式为achievement,意为“成就;业绩;实现,达到,成功”。例如:
We felt a great sense of achievement when we reached the top of the mountain.当到达山顶时,我们感到一种巨大的成就感。
❷including的用法
Buttheywerehappytotry,andotherpeople,includingsomeEnglishspeakersfromtheUKandtheUS,werehappytotalktothem.但是他们很高兴尝试(和别人说英语),包括一些来自英国和美国的说英语的其他人也愿意和他们交谈。(P56)
including作介词,意为“包括;包含”,后接名词、代词或动名词。例如:
The band sang many songs,including some of my favourite.这个乐队唱了很多歌曲,包括一些我最喜欢的歌。
辨析include,including与included
例如:
Your duties will include putting the children to bed.你的职责将包括让孩子们上床睡觉。
Thirty people,including six children/six children included,went to see the film.30个人去看了这部电影,其中包括6个孩子。
Everyone laughed,me included.每个人都笑了,包括我在内。

辨析beusedby,beusedas与beusedfor
例如:

❹quarter的用法

1.a quarter/one quarter“四分之一”;three quarters“四分之三”。常用短语为“one/a quarter of+名词”,意为“四分之一的……”,作主语时,谓语动词与of后面的名词在数上保持一致。例如:
A quarter of the earth is land.地球的四分之一是陆地。
2.quarter还可译为“一刻钟”。例如:
a quarter past seven 7:15
a quarter to seven 6:45
❺togetherwith的用法

1.together with表示“和……一同;连同……”。例如:
He collects coins,together with stamps and postcards.他收集邮票和明信片的同时,也收集硬币。
2.当主语为单数可数名词或代词,后跟together with,with,except,but,like,as well as,besides,including等连接的短语时,谓语动词仍用单数形式;主语为复数时,谓语动词用复数形式。例如:
Mr Green,together with his wife and children,has come to China.格林先生与他的妻子和孩子们一起来到了中国。
Nobody but Jim and Mike was on the playground.除了吉姆和迈克,没有人在操场上。
