Learn How to Learn
Influenced by the new marketing system, students have quite different opinions about the objective of their study. Some of them hold that a diploma is certainly something they are in college for. They believe that the diploma will enlarge the opportunities in their job-hunting. So their college life is almost focused completely on book learning.
Others tend to challenge themselves to learn more than a diploma requires. They believe that it is most important to widen personal interests and develop various abilities while at college. For this purpose, they have every reason to pride themselves on excellent academic achievements in subjects they teach themselves beyond their majors.
As a college student, I firmly believe that college is a place where we learn how to learn. We should take best advantage of the chance to broadly – math, history, and various other sciences, not merely for a diploma. On the other hand, it is also quite necessary that we take a wide interest in computer, foreign languages or other practical disciplines rather than just confine ourselves to textbooks, so that we could become versatile candidates in the future job markets. Only in this way can we keep up with the times.
Starting Career in a Big City or a Small Town
Want to be a small fish in a big pond or the other way round? Every graduate faces this question when starting his career. A large number of college graduates prefer to stay in big cities, which mean more experiences, more opportunities to see the big world and more space for career development. At the same time, higher salary is another temptation.
But some other graduates intend to start in small towns. Even though there may not be many big companies, they can have a quieter and less competitive life. Another reason is that they can be a big fish in a small pond. They can easily get the management’s attention and may win promotion earlier.
As far as I am concerned, I prefer to start in a metropolis like Shanghai. A good begin is half the battle, and in Shanghai I can find a job in a big company where I can meet people from different places and cultures. I will learn from them what I can not get from textbooks
My View on Online Education
Nowadays, online education has become very popular among people. Those who want to learn something, whether they are young or old, all can have their classes on different subjects. Some can even get a certificate or diploma after completing the required courses. Therefore, the number of people receiving this kind of education is on the rise. Why is it so popular?
The reasons are as follows. For one thing, the quick development of the Internet has provided many people a chance to attend class given by famous schools and teachers. For another, compared with having classes at school, online education saves our time, energy and money, especially to those who are too busy to study full time. The most important reason is that the schedule is flexible so that we can have a free choice to study what we need badly and decide when, where and how to study.
As far as I'm concerned, I appreciate this new form of education and also have got some benefits from it. It's indeed a helpful complement to the traditional education means.
How I Finance My College Education?
Nowadays, tuition and fees for college are much higher than ever before. How to finance one’s college education has become a matter of concern for many. You can deal with it in many ways. You can get all the needed money from your parents. You can apply for a loan specially set up for college students. You can also raise the money completely by yourself, by doing a full-time job in summer and winter holidays. Or you can ask your parents to provide the greater part and earn the rest in your spare time by doing a part-time job.
In my opinion, the last way may prove to be quite beneficial. Having obtained most of the tuition and fees from my parents, I needn’t worry too much about the money and can concentrate on my study. On the other hand, a part-time job in my spare time makes my campus life colorful. Through the part-time job I can make a lot of friends, improve my social skills and learn many practical things. Therefore, I choose this way to cover my tuition and fees.

In general, aid—education is beneficial in two aspects. for one thing, it can widen the horizon in underdeveloped regions. for example, volunteers can get opportunities to experience a totally different life. For another, college students have received a rigorous training by adapting to the harsh living conditions and they are enjoying the appreciation and on—distance friendship from the children
As far as I am concerned, china's educational development can't be isolated from each individual and it calls for the joint efforts of the society, the government and all of citizen. in a word, we college students should take the lead in response to the appeal for offering aid to children in poor areas
