Pacific Rim
The film is set in the future, when Earth is at war with the Kaiju, colossal monsters which have emerged（出现） from an interdimensional portal（次元门）on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. To combat（战斗） the monsters, humanity unites to create the Jaegers, gigantic humanoid mechas（巨大的类人机器人） each controlled by at least two pilots, whose minds are joined by a neural（神经的） bridge. Focusing on the war's later days, the story follows Raleigh Becket, a washed-up（被淘汰的） Jaeger pilot called out of retirement and teamed with rookie（新手） pilot Mako Mori as part of a last-ditch（拼死抵抗的） effort（努力） to defeat the Kaiju.
