English language has been a word language in these years, and e English course has been as an essential course in school, even in primary school. As a Chinese, in order to keep up with the pace of the development of the world, every one of us should learn English well.

I saw a competition show yesterday, called English speaking and talent competition. The splendid show made me sigh with emotion. Although I just saw the final match, the speakers’ performance gave me much feeling.

First, I want to talk about the competition between teachers. There are only six teachers that left in the final match, five men and one woman. As a girl, I should have supported the only one woman teacher, but her performance can’t satisfy me. I mean, when she gave the students a class, I can’t understand what she wanted to say. Even though she spoke fluently, she failed in it. However, I don’t want to say something bad to her. After all, she has beat thousands of people and stand on the stage of the final. But one thing we should focus on is keeping your own style, never change it, particular in the competition, please remember that the best one is yourself.

Other five speakers all have their own styles, so I can’t tell exactly who did well or not. I remember the fourth teacher has said I just want to do everything well, but you will get more nerves when you pay more attention on it. It’s just how it is. Of course, some did very well. I like the first and the last speakers. The first one comes from Xinjiang, he is a humor and handsome man. The important thing is his performance on the stage which is also perfect. His attractive smile, his fluent speaking and his charming appearance, all of them attract my attention. And the last one, mr.fan, also by using simple tools, gives us a wonderful performance.

I just judge it by my personal view, but the truth is they actually get high evaluation. So, as a teacher, no matter what your ideal is, and no matter what your methods of teaching are, you must appeal to your students, and fact has proved it.

Then I saw the competition among college students, also excellent. This time, I am not only saw the final match, but also the before one. Compared with the teacher’s one, this match is more intense. Which give me the deepest impression is Li shanglong. As a soldier, he is more natural and unrestrained. In semi-final, he did very well. Although his English speaking is not as good as other players, he could use limited English to persuade judges. That time, I think he can also do well in the final, but to my surprised, he failed. What’s worse, he even forgot what he should say on the stage. He said, “All the English words escaped from my brain.” To be honest, everyone would be nerves in competition, but as one of the top three, he should have Powerful psychological quality , besides he is a Chinese soldier.

And then I want to say something about Guo wenna. We can’t deny her sagacity, her brave and her fluent English. What’s more, she also has big ambition, but just because this, she forced herself to do everything prefect. But sadly, she didn’t satisfy her desire. What a pity! Maybe in order to meet your desire, you try your best and sacrifice lots of things, such as love, kinship, chance and so on. But please remember that you must know is what’s the most important thing to you and to be yourself, only in this way can we come to the top.

Finally, I want to talk about a speaker who comes from Xinjiang. He is my favorite player and he is really a gentleman. Do you know why I like him best? When in semi-final, all the speakers try to display their best. But in order to donate for his leukemic friend, he changed his professional speech into fundraising speech, and willing to sell his favorite horse stringed instrument to save his friend. That’s really moved me. And in the final, he went on his gentle style, although his performance suffered judge’s criticism, I also think he is the best. In the final round, he insisted on his style and did some improvement, and in the end, not beyond my expectation, he won the championship. So to be yourself is so important which can lead you to success.

After seeing the competition, I am of mixed emotions. As a professional English student, I feel so ashamed. I have learned English for years, but I just learned it for different certificates. In the final analysis, I just learn it because I am forced to do so. How sorrowful. Now, my mind have completely changed, I learn it not for anyone else, it’s for myself. So, friends, please come on, and someday the one who are on the stage is you!
