经典初中英语说课案例
Part 1:Teaching materials
This unit is about having an international food festival.Friends are preparing for the food festival by cooking many different kinds of delicious food in this topic.It also tells students about different eating manners in different countries.
It’S a reading section.By reading this section,students will learn the table manners at a formal western dinner party.They are quite different from Chinese table manners.It can help students understand the different cultures and customs and make them learn and respect the differences.
Part 2:Teaching goals
1.Knowledge goals:
(1)We should learn new words and phrases such as eat up,dessert,napkin,drink to sb./sth.and
So on.
(2)Continue to learn object clauses.
2.Ability goals:
(1)Learn how to keep good manners at a western dinner party.
(2)Improve Ss’abilities of listening,speaking,reading and writing.
3.Emotion goals:
(1)Enhance students’interests to take part in English practical activities.
(2)Make sure they are willing to study,understand and respect the differences of cultures.
Part 3:Teaching focus and difficult points
Key points:Enable the students to describe the manners at a western dinner party.
Difficult points:Practice and grasp the object clauses.
Well,how to achieve the teaching goals better.I’11 talk about my teaching methods below.
Part 4:Teaching methods
According to new lesson standard and the rules of students’growing of mind,1 will use the Task based Teaching Method and Communicative Teaching Method.When I refer to the differences between Chinese eating manners and western manners,1 will also use comparative method.
Part 5:Studying Methods
The students have learned English over one year.They have some basic skills 0f listening,reading,speaking and writing and they also have interests in learning English.
I’11 let Ss study in a relaxed and agreeab1e atmosphere. I’11 divide the whole class into several groups when having the lesson to make Ss obtain the knowledge actively by probe study and co—operative study.
Part 6:Teaching Aids
Multi--medio computer,Tape recorder,Software,pictures and real objects are needed in this 1esson.
Part 7:Teaching procedure
Step 1 Review
Free talk between T and Ss.Ask Ss to describe how to make a hamburger.(Purpose:Encourage them to practice English with learned information.Make them be more active and prepare for the practicing later on.)
Step 2 Presentation
T:We have learned something about eating customs in different countries.Could you tell me more about it?
Learn how to use object clauses to answer these questions.
I use communicative teaching method here.Do pair work using the object clauses to discuss eating customs and finish 3
A:1 want to know whether/if it is polite to smoke during a meal in France.
B:I think it is polite to smoke during a meal in France.
Purpose:In this step we not only review different eating customs but also practice using 0bject
clauses. And it will make the reading material easier for Ss to understand.
Step 3 Consolidation
1.I use comparative method to ask Ss to find the differences of eating cultures between China and Western countries.
T:In China,we use chopsticks. And do you know some eating tools in western countries? Show Ss real objects to learn the new words.Present the picture of the western dinner table and find out how to place them.Then fill in the blanks in lb(Use the real objects and picture to 1earn the new words and some manners.It’S easy to arouse Ss’interests.)
Ask Ss to talk and say more about the differences.
2.Then listen to l a and mark T or F in part 2.It can improve Ss’ability of listening
3.Then give Ss a task to read the passage in detail. I set five questions below.
(1)What will you do when you sit down at the table9
(2)What does the dinner start with?
(3)What should you do when you start eating?
(4)Is it polite to speak loudly at the table?
(5)What should you do when you drink to somebody?
Purpose:By answering the questions,Ss can grasp the main idea soon and improve their reading skills.
4.Play the tape again and ask Ss to repeat.
Ask them to pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.It’S used for improving speaking skills.
Step 4 Practice
1.Make a scene for the students:You are now at a formal western party.Please show us how to eat western food.
Purpose:Do pair work first.Then ask Ss to come to the teacher’S desk to act it out I use Task based teaching method here to develop Ss’ability of communication and CO—operation
2.Do class activities
Watch the CAI“Pat a cake”and try to sing the song.
End the lesson with a relaxed atmosphere.
Step 5 Project
Task:Make a telephone conversation
Your friend will take part in a western dinner party.She asks you to tell her something about the western table manners.Make a phone call to tell her about the table manners at a formal western dinner party.
It can help Ss improve writing skills and consolidate the knowledge they learned.
Part 8:Self-evaluation
The teacher should encourage Ss to speak English in class bravely.Never mind the mistakes they make while speaking.
