Right click on your CD-ROM drive to access the remaining files after printing and

reviewing this file.

This CD-ROM is organized to provide you with all of the information

that you will need to use the IDT77950.

Software Installation Sequence:

1. Load the CD-ROM and print out both swbRef.pdf and swbUser.pdf from the

SwchBIOS/Manuals folder. The swbRef.pdf file is the SwitchBIOS Programmer's Guide.

The swbUser.pdf is the SwitchBIOS User's Manual. The User's Manual includes function

definitions and operational information. Refer to page 66 of the User's Manual for

the written instructions on installing the AdvanceNet Systems driver for the IDT779145

NICStAR board. It is also strongly recommended that you also print out Advancenet.pdf

from the Product Documentation/Idt77950 folder (8 pages) to further assist with the

AdvanceNet driver installation.

2. Power down the computer and install the IDT779145 NICStAR card in your

computer. Make sure that you have uninstalled any other NIC software that

was already installed on the system.

3. As the machine is powered back up the system will search for the IDT779145

driver. Specify d:/ on the CD-ROM (where "d" is the appropriate drive

letter for your CD-ROM drive. Use the Serial Number provided on the label

of the CD-ROM. When prompted for the ESI address either enter the unique

address if network operation is required. Enter any random number for the

ESI address if the PC will not be connected to a network.

4. After the NIC software is successfully loaded, select the SwchBIOS folder

on the CD-ROM. Click and drag the swbios.exe file from the SwchBIOS folder onto

your desktop to install SwitchBIOS Ver 4.0. This is a self extracting file.

5. Refer to document Setup-Init.pdf (2 pages) in the Documentation folder

to then proceed with the ATM SWITCHStAR Reference Design hardware setup

and configuration.
