Teaching plan (教案) of revision

for Unit 3 A taste of English humour

1、教学内容分析

高三英语第一轮复习期间,每一单元计划用四个课时复习整单元内容。第一课时为课文内容、重点单词、短语和句型的回放,温故知新; 第二课时为语法再现,巩固拔高;第三课时听力与写作训练;第四课时安排单元测试。本节课是复习高中英语人教版必修四第三单元A taste of English humour的第一课时。

2、教学目标

1.知识与技能:再现课文内容,回顾重点单词、短语及句式,能够理解西方的幽默故事和笑话,找到其中的关键语(punchline),能简单描述无声的幽默大师卓别林和憨豆先生所扮演的人物特点。

2.过程与方法:复习教学中更应以学生自学为主,教师适时引导,设计明确而易于完成的活动供学生参与,并借助于PPT课件,增大信息的输入量并保持学生上课的积极性,以达到高效学习的目的。

3.情感态度与价值观:学生在这节课中能体验到完成任务后的成功感和喜悦感;通过对本单元的复习,进一步加深对英语幽默的认识,体会艺术幽默是人类的精神食粮而交际中的幽默是人际关系的润滑剂。

三、学习者特征分析

这节课所涉及的对象是我校高三(2班,他们虽有一定主动学习的意识但英语水平有限,因此,教学中设计的任务宜简单易于完成。

4、教学策略选择与设计

1.依据《新课程标准》的理念要求,英语教学应以学生为主体,重在培养其综合运用语言的能力。为达成上述目标,我主要采用了任务驱动教学法,设置多个小任务供学生去完成,达到复习目的。教学过程中为学生提供较多的参与课堂的机会,搭好平台让学生看、听、说以保持学习英语的兴趣。

2. 借助于PPT课件,增强视听效果,调动学习热情,增加信息输入量,而且便于老师掌控学生的思想动态,提高课堂效率。

5、教学重点及难点

1.Important point(重点):

1)key words and phrases: up to now, content, feel content with, badly off, entertain, overcome, pick out, cut off, convince, direct, star in, slide, whisper etc.

2)key sentence patterns:

1) As Victor Hugo once said ,”Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face”, and up to now nobody has been able to do this better than Charlie Chaplin.

2). He made people laugh at a time when they felt depressed, so they could feel more content with their lives.

3).You may find it astonishing that Charlie was taught to sing as soon as he could speak and dance as soon as he could walk.

4).Unfortunately his father died , leaving the family even worse off, so Charlie spent his childhood looking after his sick mother and his brother.

5).The character was a social failure but was loved for his optimism and determination to overcome all difficulties.

6) How did the little tramp made the sad situation entertaining?

7) Then he cut off the leather top of the shoe as if it were the finest steak.

8) He is loved and remembered as a great actor who could inspire people with great confidence.

2.Difficult point(难点):understand and appreciate the English humour.

6、教学过程(Teaching procedures)

Step 1 Lead-in (导入)

Ask the students the following questions: 1.What do you know about Charlie Chaplin? 2.What do you know about his films? What is so interesting about them?

(先让学生回答问题,然后教师利用多媒体播放卓别林的几部经典影片中的片段,让学生体会以下大师的惟妙惟肖的表演,从而调动学生的课堂兴趣,进行本单元的复习。

Step 2 Re-representation of the content(课堂内容再现)

1)Enjoy the English jokes

Say to the students: There are thousands of jokes which use play on words to amuse us. Read the jokes and find their punchlines.Then complete the exercise:

(让学生读几个英语笑话,然后完成练习。例举的这些笑话,有的是关于玩弄文字的游戏,有的是生活中的事例,还有的是关于语言技巧的使用等。这个环节的设计是为了让学生欣赏English humour 并复习相关单词。)

2)Reading----A Master of Nonverbal Humour

Have the students read the passage and finish the following tasks.

Task 1 :read the passage and then use the information in the passage to complete the notes about Charlie Chaplin.

Task 2:Read the passage for the second time and then work in groups : then find out the useful phrases and translate these phrases on the blackboard.

Task 3 Read the passage for the second time and find out the important sentences, such as:

(这一环节让学生读教材中的阅读课文完成以上几个任务,找出文中出现的重点词、词语和句式并认识幽默表演作为一门艺术对人类社会的作用。)

Step 3 Promotion(能力提升)

Complete a passage about another humourist—Mr. Bean with the given words in their proper forms.
