Unit 5 What’s Your Hobby

(第一课时 教学设计)

(Lead-in & Listening and Speaking Dialogue A)

、教学目标:

1. 知识目标:1)学生复习以前学习过的关于兴趣爱好的词组,能够掌握新词组,如collect stamps, fly kites, play chess, painting, etc.

2) 学生能够掌握讨论兴趣爱好时所使用的句型,如

What’s your hobby?

Do you like/love...?

I like/love...

My hobby is ...

... is/are my favorite.

I’m crazy about...

2. 能力目标: 1)学生能听懂关于个人喜好的词汇和对话。

2)学生能运用多种句型来表达个人爱好。

3. 情感目标:1)通过图片、实物、歌曲、活动激发学生学习英语的兴趣。

2)在活动中培养学生的竞争与合作意识。

3)帮助学生对爱好形成正确的认识,并选择良好的爱好。

、教学重难点:

重点学生能掌握关于兴趣爱好的词汇和句型。

难点:学生能将本课时学习的句型运用自如。

、教具准备:

黑板、多媒体、2本集邮册、小礼物等

、课时:1课时(40分钟)

、教学步骤:

Step 1: Greeting &Leading-in

Teacher: Greet the new students and introduce myself. Talk about my hobbies, show some pictures, and ask someone’s hobbies to lead in the topic of Unit 5 “What’s your hobby?” Explain the meaning of the word “hobby”.

StudentsGreet the new teacher. Freely talk about their hobbies. They will be interested in learning the topic: Hobby.

Step 2: New words

Teacher: Show some pictures about new words: 1.stamp 2.collect stamps 3.fly kites 4.play chess. Teach and check.

StudentsTry to guess the meaning of these new words. Read and master them.

Step 3: Game

1Play a PK activity.

Teacher: Divide the whole class into two groups. Play a PK game. Christmas Day is coming. Some gifts and words about hobbies fall from a magic Christmas tree. Which group can remember more words, which group wins.

StudentsHave a competition. Try to remember more words to get more gifts.

2Words Bank.

Teacher: Put the words into a Words Bank. Make sentences to practise these words. We will use them later to make a dialogue.

StudentsRead the words together. Interview their classmates’ hobbies with the sentencesWhat’s your hobby?”“I like…”“My hobby is…

Step 4: Listening 1 (P67, Part 3)

Teacher: Lead students to understand the record and the different ways of asking and answering others’ hobbies. Check the answers.

Students: Listen to the record carefully and try to write down the answers to complete the six sentences.

Step5:Listening2(P68,Part4&5)

Teacher: I have two good friends: Li Xiaonian and Zhang Wei. They have different hobbies. Now listen to the tape to complete the part 4 and 5. Then listen to it again and check the answer. Explain a new word---painting.

Students: Listen to the record carefully and try to write down the answers.

Step 6: Dialogue. (P68, Part 6)

Teacher:

Ask 2 questions:

What’s Wang Yang’s hobby?

What’s Li Xiaonian’s hobby?

Explain some words and phrases in the dialogue.

Underline the sentences about asking and answering someone’s hobbies

Students:

First read it by themselves. Try to understand the dialogue. Answer the two questions.

Listening: Read after the tape.

Read it in roles. Group A and Group B.

Step 7: Conclusion & Speaking.

Teacher: Conclude Sentence structures of asking and answering someone’s hobbies. Give some pictures to help them to make a dialogue.

Students: Task (pair-work)

Students make a dialogue in pairs. Some groups perform their dialogues.

Step 8: Homework

1. Do the exercise 1 Read and match on P67.

2. Make a survey about the hobbies of your group members. Make a star file. Set up hobby groups in your class.

(Students: Write down the homework.)
