In twenty years, people will lead a more leisurely life.
It is generally borne in on people that the life we live now is getting more and more convenience. It is often argue that with the speed of development, in twenty years, people will lead a more leisurely life. There is no denying that thanks to all the cutting-edge technology and greatly-improved medical condition, people’s life does incline to be better. Nonetheless, those holding this view fail to see that it’s also hard for people to keep pace with the high speed of society and the growing population may also trigger sever problem. Plus, the environment conditions in the future are not comforting for people to lead a leisurely life.
Initially, it should be underscored that from the past to present, the economy is developing with a very high speed and pushing the whole society to accelerate. To be more specific, in order to keep pace with the society, people have to work hard or they get left behind, and in twenty years, it’s more likely that people will lead a less leisurely life but rather a high speed life that can lead to health problem. This point can be best illustrated by the example of Google’s former vice-CEO KAI-FULEE, who is diagnosed cancer because of years of heavy loads of work. He certainly did excel himself in this fast-paced time and age by working long hours from 4 a.m. till late at night, but the price he paid is too high. Accordingly, it is self-evident that with the high speed of society, people are not likely to lead leisurely life in the future.
Simultaneously, the population problem will lead to two sever problems in twenty years. The first one is the growing population will lead to great work pressure because with more people competing for limited occupations, we need to fight real hard in order to be distinguished in the job market. Secondly, the population proportion nowadays shows that we will have a great number of elderly in twenty years. According to a recently conducted investigation by Asian Youth Development Committee, it is said that by 2030, each married couple will have to support a family with 8 members, which could be great burdens and a great deal of pressure. Hence, a sound conclusion could be reached that the population make-up will result in less leisurely life in twenty years.
Another significant aspect is that the devastation of environment resulting from urbanization are tending to become more sever. By that I mean, with the growing tendency of desertification and air pollution, in twenty years, people may find themselves hard to breathe when walking outdoors, let alone going out in the wild for relaxation. Imagine ourselves in situation like this, that because of bad condition of the environment, we are pent indoors at all time. Even with all the cutting-edge recreation equipment, we wouldn’t think that we are leading a leisurely life. Therefore, it goes without saying that because of the environment issue, people in twenty years will not lead a leisurely life.
In accordance with the reasons and examples mentioned above, I tend to believe in twenty years people will not lead a more leisurely life because of the acceleration of development, population and environment pollution. And I think it is for everyone’s best to start preventing those from happening.
